Shilav Branding Process

About Shilav

Shilav Group (Hebrew: שילב) is an Israeli chain of toys and apparel stores for babies and newborns. Shilav is a well-known chain and has dozens of stores in Israel. The store chain emphasizes the parenting experience at every stage – from the baby’s pregnancy and birth, to the stage where the child goes to kindergarten.

The mission

During my studies, I was required to make a new logo for Shilav. I did some research to better understand the need for a new look and branding. The whole process is as important as the result.

The proejct is educational and not directly related to Shilav.

Brand analysis

Before any future change, it’s important to understand what I have to work with, and deal with the brand’s strengths and weaknesses

Strenghts

  • The brand has a positive reputation
  • Sells up-to-date and quality products

Weaknesses

  • The products are usually expensive and appeal to a limited audience
  • Most of the products are sold as gifts, far from the child’s wishes and demand

Continue by thinking about the solutions to the current problems. Create a mood board that represents the brand’s future.
